Frequently Asked Questions
Am I allowed to sculpt/convert my own mini?
Yes! There is a category specific for those who have a keen interest in sculpting/conversions, but if you want to slap some paint on it, then you are more than welcome to enter it into any other category!
Is there a deadline to enter?
There is no official deadline to enter, as long as you submit your final pictures to mithrilbrush@gmail.com by December 1st. Although there is no hard deadline, I would highly recommend you fully enter (meaning you submit the admission fee and pictures of the unpainted/primed min) to get started ASAP, as you’ll have much more time to fine tune your work!
Am I allowed to enter more than one category?
Yes! You most certainly can enter more than one category, but make sure you are able to structure your time well enough for those entries!
Why is Mithril Brush an “Open” competition?
As this competition is online and a tangible mini in our hands to judge is not possible, it is only fair to make this competition an open one.
What if I am a beginner or deem myself to be “apprentice” or beginner level?
The Single miniature — Standard category is just for you! This was created to allow those at the beginner level to participate.
How do I decide if I want to enter my mini into Diorama vs Eored?
The main difference is the Eored competition will have the competitor place their collection of mini’s on a blank base to focus more on the painted squad, whereas in Diorama, if you have more than one mini, you would display them on a scenic base with/without a background.
